In order to ensure the implementation of the instruction letter No. 01-06/521 of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.Kh. Turakulov dated March 23, 2026, specialists of the regional branch of the center in the Republic of Karakalpakstan conducted a screening campaign aimed at the early detection of endocrine and metabolic diseases among the population over 40 years old in the Chimbay district of the pilot district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan from March 25 to April 5, 2026.
To carry out these screening activities, the Center, with the support of sponsors, provided a set of test strips, a set of lancelets, and glucometers for screening activities in the pilot district of the republic.
During the campaign, 780 people over the age of 40 were screened in the Chimbay district, of which 19 newly diagnosed diabetes mellitus, 58 pre-diabetic cases, and 149 cases of obesity were identified.
The population was provided with information on a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating, and physical activity.
